Abstract:
To develop a wireless intracranial pressure monitor, a silicon pressure sensor was used as the sensing head. The double bridge method was applied to compensate temperature effects. Pressure signals were converted into audio frequency signals by a voltage to frequency converter. A single chip FM transmitter and a FM receiver composed a RF wireless chain for transmitting the frequency signals. A single chip microcomputer controlled the process of sampling, digital filtering, scaling, alarming, displaying, printing and serial transmitting of data. The instrument has overcome several shortcomings of existing optical fiber intracranial pressure monitors. It is more convenient to operate and its pressure probe is more durable.
