A Symmetric PCI Bus Interface Design Based on Two C6202 DSP's Expansion Bus and the PCI9054's Local Bus

  • 摘要: 为了满足某数据采集系统中大数据率、大运算量的应用要求,采用高速数据采集及预处理模块实现了2片数字信号处理芯片C6202的扩展总线和PCI接口芯片PCI9054本地总线的对等互连.总线接口设计利用C6202的扩展总线和i960Jx总线的兼容性,实现扩展总线和PCI9054本地总线的连接;利用可编程逻辑器件,实现2片C6202扩展总线的直接互连.最终实现接口中任一设备均可作为总线上的主设备访问另外两者之一,拓展了数据采集及预处理模块在数据传输及多片协同处理方面的能力,使之更具实用性和通用性.

     

    Abstract: To meet the demanding requirements for data transfer rate and data processing ability in a data acquisition system, the author introduced a symmetric PCI bus interface design in the implementation of a high-speed data acquisition and pre-processing module with two C6202 and one PCI9054 connected symmetrically. The design makes use of the compatibility of C6202's expansion bus and the i960Jx bus standard to connect the DSP chip to the PCI bus, while connecting two DSP chips together through their expansion bus using the programmable logic device. Any one of the three devices in the interface design can then act as the master on the bus to access other devices freely. This scheme greatly enhanced the high-speed data acquisition and pre-processing module's ability of data transfer and data co-processing, making it more practical and universal.
