Abstract
The automatic trouble-shooting of instruments is a new topic. Beginning with an analysis of instrumental reliability, fundamental principles and the approach for building the specific model are described in this paper. As a particular example the case of a novel fire controller ( model HK-B ) designed by the authors is described in some detail. Characteristics of the automatic trouble-shooting diagnosis in instruments is emphasised.
