Effect of Solvents on the Molecular Rotation Relaxation Process

Abstract
An analysis of the process of molecular rotation by way of molecular anisotropy is here presented. In measuring the rotation relaxation time constant at different temperatures and in the presence of different solvents it has been discovered that the rotation relaxation time constant proved to be different in different solvents, despite the same n/T.This happens because difference in the strength of the hydrogen bonds in different solvents results in differences in the molecular rotation volumes in different solvents.
