Abstract
Analyzes the detective performance of pulse frequency modulation waveform. From an analysis of the effects of different waveform parameters such as frequency modulation step length, child pulse width and the modulation frequency deviation on range detection, velocity detection and anti jamming ability, especially through a detailed analysis on the effect upon the picture of ambiguity as a result of the ratio of pulse repetition period and child pulse width, expressions giving pulse frequency modulation detection range, velocity resolution range accuracy and velocity accuracy are derived, thus providing a foundation for waveform design.
