An Analysis of Web Caching System

The paper has its aim to study and construct Web caching systems with better scalability and higher hit rate. Hierarchical caching system has more advantage than others by analyzing the Web cache location problem and the popular distributed caching systems. In order to improve the scalability and hit rate of the hierarchical caching system, a new virtual cooperative caching system is proposed, based on a hierarchical caching architecture with scalable cluster system as the parent proxy, and prefetching mechanism is added into the child proxies. The new system is provided with better scalability, higher throughput and higher hit rate.
