Calculation of the Responses of a Model for a Modified Multiconductor Transmission Line Using the FDTD Method

  • To solve the responses of the diversified multiconductor transmission lines (such as non-uniform transmission lines) excited by its sources, a modified finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) model is introduced in order to calculate the terminal induced voltage of different configurations of multiconductor transmission lines excited by lumped voltage sources and external electromagnetic wave, respectively. The inductance and capacitance of transmission lines are taken into account for the coupling phenomenon and the behavior of the terminal induced voltage are explicitly discussed. Simulations of the terminal induced voltages of non-parallel transmission lines excited by different sources are operated to confirm the validation of this model. These results indicate that the configuration of transmission lines when slightly changed can cause large discrepancies on the terminal induced voltages of the multiconductor transmission lines.
