A New Method for Solving Circular Arc Crack Problems

A new method for solving circular arc crack problems is proposed.If there are some cracks in the same circular arc in an infinite plane elastic body,no matter whether the stresses vanish at infinity or not,the problems are reduced to a problem of linear relationship of the boundary value.Using this method,the problem with a circular arc crack under uniform biaxial load at infinity can be solved conveniently and accurately.Furthermore,the displacements on the crack surface and the stress intensity factors at the crack tips are obtained.
