Theoretical and Experimental on Improving Surface Precision by Ultrasonic Honing

  • To improve and popularize the technique of Ultrasonic honing.On the basis of analysis on the honing principle and experiments utilizing a set of diameter 47 mm vertical ultrasonic honing equipment,the effects of ultrasonic honing in improving surface precision is discussed.The study indicates that by turning continuous cutting into pulse cutting,ultrasonic honing has the advantage of requiring less cutting force,lower temperature,not easily being blocked up,higher cutting efficiency and better surface precision than honing.Ultrasonic honing has thus its wide prospective in mechanical processing.
