Choice of Dynamical Stress for Vibratory Stress Relief Based on Fatigue Limit

  • Discusses the choice of dynamical stress for the vibratory stress relief, Considering residual stresses in workpiece. Stress types and characteristics in vibratory equipments are analyzed. Goodman draft for stresses under unsymmetrical repeating loads are given. Relation-ship of dynamical stress and residual stress, and yield strength and fatigue limit of symmetrical repeating loads was defined. The results showed that the vibratory stress relief can achieve good results and the workpiece is not damaged, when σa≤(1-σm/σs)σ-1.
