Stochastic Exterior Ballistic Model of Submunitions and Its Monte Carlo Solution

Abstract
A stochastic exterior ballistic model of parachute-stabilized and ribbon-stabilized submunutions is presented to overcome the disadvantage of low precision based on classical interior ballistics. Some random parameters were considered to improve calculation precision in the model. As it includes stochastic differential equations, the model becomes difficult to find out analytic answers. To overcome this, Monte Carlo method is made use of to seek its approximate key. In a submunitions dispersion test, this model and classical exterior ballistic model are used together to calculate submunitions dispersed location. The results showed that this stochastic model has better precision than that of classical model.
