Abstract
A type of non-rectilinear Retina-like sensor has been modeled and simulated in this paper, and the model for high speed forward motion was especially studied. The image quality of Retina-like sensor and rectilinear sensor were assessed for the cases of different scenes or at different degeneration degrees. It was found that all the three image quality assessment parameters indicated that the image quality of Retina-like sensor was superior over that of rectilinear sensor. In addition, Retina-like sensor could reduce the radiant blur generated from the high speed forward motion. This paper points out the direction to design new non-rectilinear detector array, which can be used for imaging in high speed forward motion.
