Reflection and Refraction of Coupled Transverse and Micro-Rotational Wave at Interface of Two Micropolar Elastic Solid

  • Based on the model of generalized micropolar magneto-thermo-elasticity,the reflective and refractive behaviors of coupled transverse and micro-rotational wave were discussed at a plane interface between two micropolar solid mediums in the presence of a constant magnetic field. Using continuous conditions of displacement and stress at the interface, the linear system equation to compute the amplitudes of the refection and refraction waves was derived. The relations of amplitude ratios of reflected and refracted thermal waves to the incident angle of coupled transverse and micro-rotational waves were studied. The effects of thermal relaxation were discussed according to the C-D coupling theory,G-L theory and L-S theory. The numerical results show that the effect of thermal relaxation time is very significant on thermal waves and longitudinal displacement waves. However there is almost no effect of thermal relaxation time on coupled transverse and micro-rotational wave.
