Optimization of Combinational Vehicle Scheduling for Public Transit

  • In order to meet the needs of both bus enterprise and passengers for reasonable allocation of resources, the passenger flow OD matrix is calculated on the basis of the survey data. At the same time, passenger flow OD matrix of the two vehicle scheduling is got by the determined express bus stops. Then bus scheduling mathematical model is established, which contains the express bus and the full dispatching schematic. Sensitivity analysis of the model is achieved by the selected elements such as the average speed, the number of bus used, the times of bus stops, operating costs. The conclusion indicates that the combinational scheduling can reach the needs of passengers and reduce 25% of the enterprise operation cost.
