N2 - In this article, a model predictive control (MPC) strategy for dual-active-bridge (DAB) converters under triple phase shift (TPS) is proposed. Traditional single-loop control cannot provide a satisfactory dynamic response under TPS in DAB converters. Although MPC offers good dynamic performance, conventional MPC for DAB converters under TPS control suffers from high computational complexity, which limits the achievable switching frequency and degrades the dynamic response. To address these issues, an improved MPC strategy is proposed to achieve a fast dynamic performance for the DAB converter by eliminating the effect of control delay while also enabling higher switching frequencies. The proposed control method is derived from an expression for the phase shift angle based on the output current, which is analyzed by the modulation strategy under TPS. In addition, a parameter identification method based on a discrete integrator is introduced to ensure parameter accuracy while requiring lower computational complexity than model-based identification methods. The stability of the system is analyzed through small-signal modeling, which demonstrates good frequency response. Finally, experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control method in improving dynamic response.
